Prerequisites: ECE 5101 and 6111.

Grading Basis: Graded

Optimal Control, including optimization techniques for linear and nonlinear systems, calculus of variations, dynamic programming, the Pontryagin maximum principle, and computational methods. Linear Model Predictive Control, including process models and model prediction methods of state space description, transfer matrix representation, and neural network representation; and optimization methods without and with constraints.
