5390. Classic Papers in Climate Science

3.00 credits | May be repeated for a total of 6 credits.

Prerequisites: May not be taken for credit by students who have passed GEOG 4300.

Grading Basis: Graded

An examination of the defining primary literature in the evolution of climate science to the present state of knowledge. Topics may include the Greenhouse Theory of Climate, El NiƱo, Climate Prediction, and regional processes of interest (e.g., monsoons, storm tracks, desert dynamics).
