5715. Sustainable Transportation

In this course we will assess the role of the land based transportation system in terms of how it affects the environmental, social and economic goals for a sustainable society. We will look at how the concept of sustainability can be used to frame the discussion so that we have a holistic framework for assessing the transportation and land use system. In addition, we will discuss strategies for reducing the environmental, social and economic footprint of the transportation/land use system and consider ways that these strategies can be implemented.
