Software performance principles, hierarchical performance modeling, and current research trends related to Software Performance Engineering. Methods for computer performance evaluation and analysis with emphasis on direct measurement and analytic modeling, including queuing networks, computation structure models, state charts, probabilistic languages, and Petri-nets. Case studies for the evaluation and analysis of software architecture and design alternatives.
